The thing that put me off is on two previous occassions when I've been to Scotland and I've been given a dogs abuse, my crime? Happening to be born in England...!
The amount of vitriol they have towards the English is both disturbing and pathetic in equal measure and for this I will never cheer them on in any sport in any competition unless of course they're playing the Argies!

Sky sports interviewer to Chris Coleman: "one point needed, two games to go, would you like to get it done tonight?"
Jesus wept.
Erm, no, we're really hoping it goes down to the wire in the last game and we end up a goal down with seconds left on the clock, and have to get a late equaliser to scrape through...
UTTER IDIOTS on Sky.

Also, Simon Thomas in the studio "let's go live to Barry Horne in Bosnia.."
Horne then goes on to say it's been raining all day, but the pitch is holding up well and looks great...
Thomas back in the studio then asks: "how's the pitch looking, Barry?..."
How much are these morons getting paid?

Wales lost 2-0 but Israel lost 2-1 to Cyprus, so Wales still qualify. Well done to them, and to Ash.

There was once a time when I used to want the Scots to do well, back in the days when I was younger, and there has been the odd sense of pity whenever they crash and burn like this in recent times. my sentiments exactly. i can only remember the final in '78 (and only very vaguely), but i can remember watching the scots beat new zealand in '82 and then lose to brazil 4-1 after having the temerity to take the lead through david narey's toe-poke. there were lots of old division one players plus scottish based ones who i was properly aware of from 'football focus' and their european adventures. was fully behind them, and once even had some bargain bin scottish shorts (which may have been orange and purple!). now the squad is anonymous. i expect a level of home countries hatred of the english, but the scottish celebrating every english tournament defeat (which i was inevitably lamenting) wore me down a bit after a while. i still wanted them to do well in '98, but since then they've failed to qualify for anything and the hatred in my opinion has taken on an epically bitter tone, so they can f*** right off. that said, i was still kind of behind them for that qualifying campaign where they beat france home and away (?) in recent years. i just also find it funny when they fail, and i don't feel that about any of the other home nations. and when the buckfast drinking, orange wigged tartan army had the temerity to throw themselves in the trafalgar square fountains, we should have put them in the f***ing tower.

Diolch yn fawr, gazza & exile. Not ideal to qualify on the back of a defeat - but, having waited for almost sixty years, my boyos will take that. See you in France!

This has to be a classic score and report...note the comments about the goalkeeper and the umbrella.....by the way anyone who has twitter and likes stuff about old grounds follow Vince.... Vince Taylor @groundtastic How Arbroath's 36-0 Scottish Cup victory over Bon Accord was reported in 1885.
