I know I'm probably being biased as i'm also from Oldham but Scholes is the winner for me. He makes it look so effortless (on the reply from behind it's as if he's having a kick around with his mates) and did that on so many occasions. “There is no doubt for me that Paul Scholes is still in a class of his own. He’s almost untouchable in what he does. I never tire of watching him play. You rarely come across the complete footballer, but Scholes is as close to it as you can get. One of my regrets is that the opportunity to play alongside him never presented itself during my career.” – Zinedine ZidaneNuff said, matey.

wasn't expecting it to be that good. from lampard's having the camera right behind him which improved it, to the bend on essien's. matty taylor's was ridiculous, i loved the technique on huddleston's half-volley, but i agree that scholes wins it, because it features the unbeatable conclusion of an absolute rocket slamming in off the underside of the crossbar*.

This is brilliant from the 'Romford Pele':
I've always liked Ray Parlour and some of his stories from his time as a player really are top quality.

As you know I've more than a passing interest in Scottish football being a regular visitor to Scottish league and non - league matches and I've been following this for the last few weeks. It demonstrates beyond doubt that so called "leaders" in whatever walk of life fall so far beyond expectations because they seem utterly incapable of grasping a situation, identifying potential consequences, including those affected in discussion and proposing workable solutions. In other words, utterly clueless.

laughable. not sure we're particularly near a resumption of football. one of you lot is going to have to teach me the offside law again when we do...

All depends on what the government's attitude is but, my view: Liverpool PL champions. European positions as is. No relegation. Top 2 promoted from Championship. Bottom 2 relegated. Top 2 promoted from L1. Bottom 2 relegated. Top 2 promoted from L2. Bottom 1 relegated. Top 1 promoted from NL.

A little late to the conversation but for me but if it were up to me, I couldn't in all good conscience give the title to Liverpool until they've actually won it, we all know Liverpool were the best team in the league, if not the World this season and almost certainly would've won it but they didn't win it and for me that is key.
I've nothing against LFC but they deserve better than an asterix title anyway, if they're truly as good as they seem, they shouldn't have a big issue winning it next time anyway!

i agree that i actually want them to win it fudge rather than having it handed to them. BUT. before that defeat at watford, they'd taken 82 out of a possible 84 points. city have to win every remaining game and even then, liverpool only need two wins to take it anyway. so voiding the season doesn't feel right either...and we've all seen teams being great one season then immediately fall off a cliff - mourinho's second chelsea spell being a recent example. i wouldn't expect liverpool to fall that dramatically, but there's some serial underperformers amongst the big clubs who are going to pick up sooner or later, and i'm not guaranteed another 30 years for them to piss about trying to win it.

All they have to do is apply the points per game average and Liverpool will walk it, but under no circumstances should they void the season, it would be a massive travesty if they did that.
Liverpool have been the best team in the country by a country mile, so they either have to award the title to them or apply the points per game method.
Ask yourselves one question, if it was County running away with the league, would you want it voided?
Not a chance.

I'd be more than happy to go with PPG to decide the league, it's the European/Relegation spots that muddy the water for me with that...especially with City's impending European ban meaning Wolves, United, Sheff United and Spurs all duking it out for that final elusive Champions League spot. I don't envy whoever has the final say on it as whatever is decided someone is going to feel hard done by.

yeah, i agree with that entirely fudge. i've thought all along that it's not the top of the premier league that's difficult to sort, it's all the european, promotion and relegation places because they were still 'live' at the time we went into lockdown.
