Right, rampant punnery aside, an update.
I've had 4 lots of votes in so far, to add to mine (which I put down first so as to avoid any suggestion my choices were influenced) so please keep them coming. Remember, you only have to vote for the acts you actually have an opinion on - you can leave the others blank if you wish.
Interestingly, whilst some songs are in the lead, there isn't a single act from our A-Z where everyone has voted for the same song so far.
At the end of the week, I'll only ask for further voting for those acts where we don't have a decisive winner. If a song has won, I'll leave that act out of next week's voting, but won't reveal which song has made it onto the album until we have all 26.
To avoid the voting dragging on, if we still don't have a winner for some acts come next Friday, I'll use my casting vote again.
Hope that all makes sense.

I just did it. That was a struggle. not because I couldn't choose, but instead because of the fact that I have never listened to a song from most of these artists.
I need to listen to some different music.

Still just the 6 votes in. Make sure you send me your songs by midday on Friday, otherwise you can't complain if your preferred track doesn't make the album!

Right then, down to business.
As advised last week, I've ditched my original plan to suggest three tracks for each artist, and instead will give everyone free reign to vote for whatever track they like. Then, at the end of this week, I'll announce either the winning song (if one wins outright) or the top voted for songs in the event of a tie, for a second, decisive, round of voting next week.
We'll then have our album.
I've devised a handy voting sheet for anyone who would like to simply fill it in and send it back to me via PM or e-mail (sandbachhatter@hotmail.co.uk), or if not you can just use it as a reminder of the winning acts.
You have until midday on Friday to send me your votes please.
Sandy - how many songs can we vote for on the sheet? Just one?

Just one for each artist mate, but you can leave any acts that you don't want to vote for blank.

Ok then.
I've decided to keep you all in suspense a little longer, by not revealing which songs have already made it onto the album. In some cases there were clear winners, and in others it was decided by just the one vote.
With that in mind, I've set out below the artists/bands where we have a tie in the voting. For those acts, the voting now starts again, but you must choose one of the songs listed below. All previous votes will not be counted, so if you happened to choose one of the songs listed the first time around, you will need to vote for it again to make sure it gets on the album.
Again, the voting is open until midday next Friday. Please send all votes via PM if possible, and do not discuss who you are voting for on here (or anywhere else for that matter).
If there is still a tie at that point for any of the acts, I'll use my casting vote. I won't be voting this week, in case my vote is required at the end.
I will then reveal, next Friday afternoon, our album in all it's glory.
Get voting!
1. David Bowie
Heroes Life On Mars
2. Marvin Gaye
I Heard It Through The Grapevine What's Going On
3. New Order
Blue Monday True Faith World in Motion
4. Queen
Bohemian Rhapsody You're My Best Friend
5. Teenage Fanclub
Everything Flows Star Sign What You Do To Me 6. The Who
