Could well be right 77. Not sure if we'd have enough to go up with Gregson fit but IMO he's been a massive loss the last month or so. I've heard he's waiting on the NHS to get his knee right? Just a thought for future, wouldn't it be better using the players fund to go private so our key players can return from injuries quicker?

Yes, Gregson is a big worry. He will need an Op. Ideally I'd try and get that done now so we can see where he stands for next season, as there is little doubt to me that our best formation is 5-3-2 and we need to tools to play that way.
It does not help being part time when players are injured. Ali Gibb seeing them twice a week is far from ideal.
Private health can be expensive, it's a tough call that one that would have to looked into to see if it'd pay.

not entirely expected, despite the above... until last season, i had assumed that sixfields was northants' poxiest stadium. i was wrong. we started unexcitingly, but steadily. glover smashed a shot from outside the area a foot over and into the stand, but there wasn't a great deal happening. with half an hour or so gone, i sloped off for a coffee to beat the half time rush. as i was making my way across the front of the tiny stand that straddles the half way line, matthew todd pushed up on the left and won us a corner. i took a seat, but resumed my journey when the corner came to nothing. sadly, i was facing the wrong way when somebody shouted "he's lost it" and i turned to see the ball bouncing into the net. for f***'s sake. we haven't scored in ages and they waited until i'd taken my eye off the ball to sneak one in. still; it meant we were ahead at half time. second half and we had regrouped in the small stand behind the goal, with other county on the terrace next to it, and also down the side of the ground. "I-O county" rang out fairly loudly a few times. the game wasn't especially exciting but we seemed to have the better of it. can't remember if their big chance came before or after ours, but one of them got a shot in that hurst dived and scooped possibly onto the post or just wide. danny glover had developed dancing feet to get himself in at an angle. his shot was a bit tame, but it came back to him and he tried to curl it into the far corner. the 'keeper got a touch on it which was enough to divert it onto the bar. we had one or two other blocked shots but there weren't a lot of clear cut chances in the game. hurst kept them out when they had their big moment, and also took a few crosses cleanly and well. the centre halves...are just dependable, aren't they? barely noticed the new addition connor hancock, and we reckoned that was probably a good thing. jacobs had easily his best game since he came back (which of course wasn't difficult), getting forward and supplementing the attack, finding team mates pretty well. matthew todd strengthened us at left back, although i'm not sure he was tested too much today. churchman was better than in the last couple of games, while baker and especially wilkinson still need to show a lot more. ryan put himself about reasonably well and danny glover looked like he had a bit of confidence and technique today. not an especially memorable performance, but good to get back to winning ways. they deserved a decent clap off and got one. bit of a furore with frank sinclair as he was going off at the end, but that seems about par for the course. we aren't going to make the play-offs. if we win our remaining 9 games we'll have 76 points. 8 wins and a draw will probably be enough, but given that won't happen; finishing the season positively on the pitch will be good, fighting for that final play off place as late in the season as possible, and giving the season ticket considering support some confidence that we are both improved and improving. went to a couple of pubs in brackley, but it was all rugger buggers. M1 closed just below wakefield on my way back. one day all this work will be finished and we'll just be able to sit on congested motorways unmolested.

An uneventful trip down to Brackley and back with just the 50 mph zone delays. Brackley pitch is on a hill okay a slight exaggeration but you could really see the slope and once again we were playing in windy conditions. It was great to see no segregation.
It was good to see the team had more get up and go and more fight which is what we seemed to miss in the last few matches. There were a few moments of brilliance but County did enough to secure the 3 points. Our goal was pure comedy and caused some amusement with Mr Sinclair's remonstrations to the ref. The ref was a small guy but it was good to see he wasnt taking any nonsense and it was a vast improvement than what we had seen recently.
Brackley only seemed to have the one song (the submarine one) and we had to wait 'til the second half to really hear the County fans. Glover was unlucky with his solo effort being tipped onto the bar. If ever there was a goal for the taking that was the one.. pure unlucky really, and Baker had a chance when he really should have taken the shot.
Anyway pleased with the all round performance and one positive was Jacobs playing far better and having much more impact on the game. (more like last season). Midfield could do with more creativity, our build ups seem to be more laboured and slower, but the team put on a good shift to bag the win. Good applause as the players came off the pitch, and just one question - why does Sinclair always bite?

I don't want to repeat others but it is good to see the 5-3-2 back. It has worked with Gregson, Leeds and O'Halloran and the loss Gregson and the altered formation have contributed to our dip in form. I'm glad that Lord has faith to put Hancock in the back line. A clean sheet vindicates the decision. This was probably Jacobs best game since he re-signed.
