Hi all - and Happy Valentine's Evening!
Football is having to take second place to dancing and romancing at Macc Towers for the rest of today - so my Match Report for COWs will follow sometime in the morning. But here, in the meantime, is our article from this afternoon's programme. Enjoy!
Peace and love,

Aftenoon, all – and welcome to SK3 for what is not only a second consecutive Saturday of football here, but also, following Stalybridge’s visit seven days ago, another postcode-related El Clasico at EP!
The Hatters’ last-minute win against our near-neighbours from SK15 will have sent the County Faithful home smiling. And we shall all be hoping for more of the same – with drama optional, thank you very much! – on receiving SK14’s Hyde, who, by a couple of miles or so, are even nearer-neighbours. The Tigers have found life extremely tough since their relegation from the Conference Premier, and are yet to enjoy a victory on the road this term, but, with the added spice of local rivalry thrown in, promise not to be easily tamed.
The Development Squad’s Lancashire West Division League Cup Final against Colne on Tuesday night may not have been an El Clasico in terms of a derby, although its kick-off time at Stockport Sports Village was, at 8:30pm, decidedly Spanish! And there was a dramatic, European-type penalty shoot-out required to settle it, too - albeit one that, unfortunately, saw our young side edged out by the odd spot-kick in seven.
And now, here’s my esteemed co-contributor, who will have particularly enjoyed last Saturday’s result – given that, for the second year running, a home victory over Stalybridge preluded his own birthday celebrations.
Did they manage to… erm, Hyde your presents at Sandy Towers, ahead of the Big Day?!

Good (Alan) Lord, Ewen and your jokes get worse by the match!
Speaking of Ewen Fields, this seems like a good opportunity to remind everyone (or inform everyone, if they were not already aware) that we will be walking to the away fixture of this tie on Saturday, 28th March, to raise money for charity. We are hoping to repeat the success of “Hatters Hike 2013” (with the appropriately-named “Hatters Hike to Hyde 2015”) and raise as much as we can for Kidscan, a children’s cancer charity based in Salford.
There is still time to participate, should you wish to, and while the majority of us will be walking there and back, for anyone who thinks the distance might be too much for them (the route we are taking is around 7 miles each way), they can, of course, just do one leg or the other – and, by this, I don’t mean hopping! Equally, any Hyde fans reading this - or supporters of any club for that matter – are welcome to join us… the more the merrier.
If you would like to take part, please e-mail me as soon as possible: sandbachhatter@hotmail.co.uk. If you are unable to join us, but would like to donate, either contact me or visit www.justgiving.com/HattersHike2015. Please dig deep and give whatever you can to this worthwhile cause.
Enjoy the match.
