Alan Norris, James Wilson, Robbie Green, Jan Dekker eye PDC cards:Not sure about Jan Dekker, and I've not seen enough of James Wilson, but Robbie Green and Alan Norris should breeze through Q-School and be good additions to the PDC. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/darts/30816775

Johnny Depp, tractors and titles - Scott Mitchell's wonderful world:It is hard to imagine a scenario where a landscape gardener who grew up on a farm in the New Forest and a group of world-famous movie stars would interact. Yet Scott Mitchell, the newly-crowned BDO world darts champion, has been mixing with Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Billy Bob Thornton and others on the set of an upcoming film.
The 44-year-old from Bransgore has been involved in the making of 'London Fields', a movie adaptation of the Martin Amis novel of the same name. One of the main characters, Keith Talent, is an aspiring darts player and Mitchell was brought in to offer his expert advice to the cast.Read more

Looking forward to The 'Masters' which takes place over the weekend 31st January & 1st February. Eight great games to start it off on Saturday. ITV4 have this one and their coverage is excellent. 100% on all counts Chris Mason knocks the spots off all but Eric and John Part from the Sky team, the rest are poor in comparison. You only have to look back at ITV4's coverage of the Grand Slam before Hearn snatched it back to see the difference in class.

Gary Anderson is Premier League Darts champ for the second time after beating van Gerwen tonight 11-7, stunning performance from the Scotsman after first coming from behind to snatch his semi-final v Dave Chisnall in the final leg to win 10-9, then coming back after a shaky start that saw him go 2-0 down in the final, winning three legs on the spin to take the lead and he never looked back from there.
Top bloke, and a top player who has worked really hard to get to where he is, proof that nice guys do win sometimes.

Thought van Gerwen was going to win the final after the way he came back and finished Barney. All credit to Anderson. He put MVG under a lot of pressure in the final and MVG couldn't handle it.

He is probably the only one who isn't rattled by van Gerwen's obvious gamesmanship. Those animated celebrations after almost every visit are way way too much, but he knows full well what he's doing, it's for the purposes of unsettling his opponents. I don't know how he gets away with it. Gary's got the measure of him now though, and the Dutchman knows it. Well played, Gary Anderson.

I don't know if it's deliberate gamesmanship, I just think that's how MVG is. He throws his darts quickly and scores heavily, and when he gets 4, 5, 6 perfect darts in a row he gets himself pumped up. I think the excitable celebrations are genuine, and either way, I like it - makes for great viewing!

I don't know if it's deliberate gamesmanship, I just think that's how MVG is It is, matey, he stopped doing it so much against Phil because he told him to get on with it during a major match once, he was really going OTT and Taylor tore him off a strip and told him to get his darts out of the board and get on with it. He's super-talented, but he lacks class as a sportsman. You watch how close he gets to his opponents when they're about to throw their third dart, a big hefty lad like van Gerwen is bound to make his presence felt when moving towards you the way he does before the third dart is released. I rate him as a talent, but I don't like him as a player.

Well done Gary Anderson.
Still have an irrational dislike of you.
As I say totally irrational as everything I've seen and read about him is positive.

Grand Slam next, with Martin Adams finally accepting his invitation to appear, and the best news of all, Andy Fordham has also qualified for his first Grand Slam.
After all his health problems it really is a fantastic achievement for the Viking.
Bring it on!
