Good morning and welcome to the first ever County Heaven Quiz ‘Team Challenge’! Team Archie and Team Maccy are about to embark on a treasure hunt!
Over the course of the next few weeks (I’m not telling you how many!) I shall be going on my travels around the country again, visiting a number of different football grounds. The grounds I’ll be visiting will be from the top 7 leagues in England and Wales (so anything from Premiership to Vanarama North/South) just to make it nice and tricky to narrow down where I’m going!
As an added twist, I won’t be giving you directions to where I’m going, just a series of picture clues (although the first picture clue each week will give you a sense of the general direction you’re heading as it’ll be a compass!). Please note, we will be starting from Sandbach Towers in Week 1, but in subsequent weeks we will be starting from the ground we finished at the week before.
Get the club right on Monday and you get 5 points for your team, etc. etc.
As ever, there are bonus points up for grabs. When you re-arrange the postal codes (e.g. County would be ‘SK’) from all the clubs I’ve visited, you will be able to spell out a former County player. And before you ask whether it’s his full name or just surname you’re looking for, I’m not telling you!
The first person to work out who the mystery player is will collect 10 bonus points for his team, then 9 and so on until they’ve all gone.
Whilst each individual player will know how many points he has scored, I’m only going to be revealing team points each week to avoid any under-achievers getting picked on!
As ever, answers via PM or e-mail to sandbachhatter@hotmail.co.uk. Right, bags packed, the ‘Archie Auto’ and ‘Macc Mobile’ fully fuelled and ready to go – and they’re off!

Note:
Yes, I am acutely aware that this quiz is wide-open to cheating if someone gets the right answer and then passes it on to their team. I was going to post this morning saying that I would hope I could rely on everyone's honesty and entering into the spirit of the quiz on this occasion, but decided not to as I didn't want to give anyone inclined to cheating any ideas!
Now that enough of you have obviously thought of this potential flaw to the quiz as it has been mentioned a few times, I'm posting now to ask that you please refrain from cheating.
Any team victory based on cheating will be a hollow one, and will haunt you forever. Don't be that guy.
Lots of love
Sandy

Do you know what? That had genuinely never occurred to me! No wonder I was never destined to make it in the cut-and-thrust business world...

Right then, seeing as I have an early start tomorrow, and seeing as how all players have got the answer correct, I'm calling time on Week 1.
And, although it's early in the competition, it was the Archie Auto that came screeching into Gateshead slightly ahead of the Macc Mobile:
Let the bragging/#bantz commence as I unlock the thread (but no revealing of personal scores please, no matter how well/badly you did!)
See you all Monday for Week 2.
