Note to all quizzers
I'm away this Friday and next Monday and so I've decided:
1. This quiz will end on Thursday. I'll scrap tomorrow's clue as it didn't give away much more than today's anyway, and so the final clue will be posted Thursday morning with the overall results and winner announced late Thursday afternoon.
2. There won't be a quiz next week as I'm away until Tuesday. The next quiz will therefore start on Monday 10th November. There will, however, be something else in the quiz room next week to keep some of you occupied instead.
Thanks

Ok then, time's up.
This week's player was... Greg Tansey!
Well done to those of you who had evidently worked out the link player and guessed this week would be Greg Tansey well before the first clue was even revealed. A fair few '5 pointers' among you this week, which means there is no real change at the top of the table:
1. Hatter in Macc 22 2= Archie 21 Sir Roger 21 4= Epworth 20 Gazza 20 6. Calliope 18 7. Dudley 15 8= Bradninch 13 Down Under 13 10. Shropshire 11 11. Market Harborough 9 12. BBLW 5
For those of you who haven't got the link yet, I can now reveal (although the cat was out of the bag earlier this week anyway when I announced the next quiz starting a week on Monday) that this is the final week and the end of the quiz!
So, it looks like it's all coming down to the bonus points again... who is our winner?

Over the 5 weeks, you've been given clues to the following players:
Anthony Elding (AE) Neil Edwards (NE) Wayne Hennessey (WH) Richard O'Donnell (RO) Greg Tansey (GT)
The initials of which can be re-arranged to spell G A R E T H O W E N - Gareth Owen! The only man to captain a winning side at Wembley for us!
So, if Maccy got that first, he wins as no one can catch him.
If Archie, Sir Roger, Eppy or Gazza got it first, it could mean victory is snatched from Maccy's grasp (bearing in mind he has led since week 1)...
So, who got the link first?...

Archie!
Closely followed by Maccy which means we have a tie!
Here's the final table once the bonus points have been added in:
1= Archie 31 Hatter in Macc 31 3. Sir Roger 29 4. Epworth 27 5= Calliope 24 Gazza 24 7. Bradninch 18 8= Down Under 16 Dudley 16 10. Shropshire 13 11. Market Harborough 9 12. BBLW 5
Congratulations to Archie and Maccy (well, I guess commiserations to Maccy after he led the pack for so long) and also well done to Sir Rog for a podium finish.
Thanks to everyone for playing.
As I said before, there's no quiz next week as such, as it'll start the Monday after, but I do have something planned.
Perhaps a little tie-break decider for Archie and Maccy?....

Thanks for another goodun, Sandy. Very pleased to get a share of the spoils after only scoring 1 point in week 1. Congrats to Macca and commiserations on sharing the poisoned chalice of the 'prize'.
