INXS, no contest. Michael Hutchence was a phenomenal frontman, and they were the most underrated band of their era in my opinion.
Continue to RIP, 'Hutch'.

I thought we'd converted you to Icehouse, Gazza but, fair do's, INXS weren't too shabby. I'm still with Iva and the boys with the only competition in my collection coming from In Tua Nua and Chris Isaak.

"This Old Heart Of Mine", "Summer Breeze", "Who's That Lady", "Harvest For The World", "Behind The Painted Smile" & "I Guess I'll Always Love You" and many others too.
Yes, this week was oh so easy for me.
The quite brilliant Isley Brothers.

Other's include...
Julio Iglesias Enrique Iglesias Natalie Imbruglia Idlewild Inner Circle Inspiral Carpets Chris Isaak Isley Brothers
There can only be one winner and it's not because I too am from Oldham!! Has to be the Inspiral Carpets (with Saturn 5 being my favourite by them)

A few I's
Ides of Space - Indie-tasic band from Oz Illustrious Day - So cool with a lovely american twang songstress Intastella - Poptastic It Bites - I was mad about them for a while. Pretty rubbish now though, listening back. Islands - A bit hit and miss, but still a good band. 'Hallways' has a fantastic video with skeletons! The Immediate - Irish band described as: 'Their moody, jerky rhythms sounded like Franz Ferdinand getting beaten up by Joy Division'
No contest for me this week. Inspiral Carpets are probably still my favourite band. I collect their stuff on vinyl (70-odd and counting) and when in any record shop, 'I' is the first place I look. I've got everything from limited edition albums, to promo singles. New album (first in 20 years) out on Monday. Eeek.

Update:
Inspiral Carpets 2 Ice House 1 INXS 1 Iron Maiden 1 Isley Brothers, The 1
To my shame I forgot about Inspiral Carpets and they probably should have taken the place of Idlewild (no matter how much I love them!)

Oh don't get me wrong, Archie, Icehouse were class, but Hutch and INXS were just too fantastic to be anything but my top choice. Speaking of the brilliant Chris Isaak, he did a fabulous album recently, recorded at Sun Studios called 'Beyond the Sun', I recommend it. Superb voice.

bit of a quiet week for me. i liked 'up here in the north of england' by icicle works and it's immaterial's 'driving away from home', but not really enough to vote for them. bon iver should have come under 'b', and i've liked bits of iron and wine, but not desperately; so i'm going inspirals as well, although not that enthusiastically. i remember them more for seeing them in hull instead of going to edgeley on a thursday night to see killer's goal against torquay than anything. 'she comes in the fall' is pretty good though.
