Your 606 moniker if I remember correctly, matey? Well done Gazza, ich bin's, it's me. And Sandbach, and everyone, can I have two votes, as I don't think Herbert G will get any more as well as my Marvin Gaye vote?

The usual trawl through the vinyl collection comes up with solo albums by Dave Gilmour and Art Garfunkel. I don't really have a strongly favoured 'G' but, on balance, I think I'll go with the much underrated and sadly missed, Andrew Gold.

Also, agree about Godley & Creme whose 'Cry' is one of the best pop/rock videos that I can think of. They certainly took MTV to new levels in its early days.

Absolutely no idea of 15 of the names listed above. I think I need to get out more.

Although I've voted, a shout for George Gershwin as a musician/composer and his brother Ira as a lyricist. They gave us classic songs such as Summertime, It Ain't Necessarily So, I Got Rhythm, and many more. Together they produced many musicals and one of classical music's greatest operas, Porgy and Bess.

Like Mozart, he died in his thirties. Imagine what they would have still achieved if they'd lived longer.

Godspeed You! Black Emperer for me please.
I was thinking of going for Gomez, but they haven't spoken to me since Whippin' Picccadddillly. Plus there's Glasvegas, but after the first album they've not spoken to me. All these bands that haven't spoken to me - must be my aftershave.
