A few F's of note...
The Family Cat - supported Shed Seven in York in the mid-90s. Ok band, but have a great line I had a wonderful excuse / I wasn't there and I'm no use. I've used that a few times over the years!
Fatima Mansions, Five Thirty, the aforementioned The Field Mice and The Fratellis (if you can get beyond the massively over-played Chelsea Dagger)
And a mention for Foreheads in a Fishtank. A terrible band, but they have one of the funniest song title's ever. Google the bands name and 'Castle Donnington' if you want to find out!
My vote, though, goes to The Fall. Some great songs and one of my best mates at school, a guy called Steve Trafford, played bass in The Fall in the mid-noughties. He played on Fall Heads Roll and the bass on Blindness is amazing.
Incidentally, Steve is now in a band called rubberbear with a guy called Mark Chapman who is currently bassist for New Order. A winning combination, I'm sure you'll agree:
https%3A//soundcloud.com/rubberbearband The video to their song 'Let's move somewhere else' stars Maxine Peake! 'Other side of the fence' is the ep they've just released. First album due out soon, apparently.

Hope you don't mind the edit, Eps, I thought it would be better to have the soundcloud clip embedded in your post for ease of playback.

I have to remain true to the 'Four Tops', Gazza, but felt it necessary to mention FYC.
It would have been wrong not to.
The 'F' table is correct.

I'm going to go with FLeetwood Mac due to the absence of any other credible artists. The Farm were decent but not on any sort of level compared to the list above. Same goes for Franz Ferdinand and Ferenc.

Right, I'm changing my mind.
Fleetwood Mac gets my vote too, simply because they've made some good music over the years, not least with 'Tango in the night'.
That should make things interesting!
