Chief exec? A trip south to "The Autotech" To play the Moors. A reality check ? Could we have a nose-bleed With our ascending stampede The only way is up since we got rid of the boy wonder chief exec Thats a winner for me!!!

Ok, time's up. Another high class entry although no-one seemed to think that a trip to do battle with the Moors/Saracens might be called a crusade and no-one had an El Cid reference. I'll just have to go on the (totally subjective) quality so, while sir rog, Lennie, ceefer, gazza and dudders were all in the mix, the Clwyd jury's vote is as follows:
Joint 3rd: Macca and, er, Macca with the thought of signing Robert Fleck and an on-topic key down the neck to stop the nosebleed.
2nd: Eppy with his pastiche of countyfan's style. Might have won but unfortunately 'smart alec' rhymes so not quite on the money!
1st: blowing all the rules about scanning but making me chuckle with 3 different homonyms of 'check' in a single line, we have . . countyfan.
Well done sir. Wear the mantle with pride.

Cheers for the Bronze, archie. Chuffed with that, in the face of some fierce competition.
Hearty congratulations, too, to my fellow podum occupants, c_f and eppers.
Bring on some Cup fever couplets, Sir Len!

Thanks Archie good decision and some brilliant entries.
I really thought that rhyming with "Tech" would have been a huge challenge but you County composers came to the party. Excellent stuff.
Well done podium sitters and major congrats to CF. Thanks for entering. Harrogate limerick on it's way soon.

Thanks muchly, archibald.
Very pleased with second. Well played Macc and an excellent winning line from cf and deserved gold, despite ceefer's seemingly drunken attempt to get me top spot! A cracking round this week from one and all. Thanks Lennie.
