House of the Rising Sun
Not quite 3 versions but, I can strum it, pick it in chords and play the melody.
My only claim to fame on the guitar !! I darn't sing it though.
Best version ever is John Otway -----
Brilliantly stage managed with the "heckler"

Can I just check the rule on the word 'The' at the start of band names. As a rule I think we should ignore it, unless it is an integral part of the name.
For example: The Auteurs would be under 'A', The Boo Radleys would be under 'B' and The Velvet Underground would be under 'V'. Whereas The Who would be under 'T'
Does this sound sensible?
Oh and whilst I'm here.... The Auteurs

You see, I'd have put The Who under W, but maybe I'm mistaken - happy to go with the majority Eppers.
Alanis is still not eligible until Week M though, before you ask Fudgie.

I suppose it would make it easier for us all to ignore the word 'The' at the start of band names.
I was thinking that you would say 'Boo Radleys' or 'Velvet Underground' and dropping the 'The' is ok. You'd never say 'Who' though; you'd always say 'The Who'.
As you say Sandy, happy to go with the majority. Maybe simplicity is next to godliness on this one.

Good point, how about we use Week X for that?

Yes, what about XTC?!
I'm not sure they warrant a week to themselves (and I'm sure there are other artists beginning with X, but none worth discussing that I could find).

If you must. Although I'd suggest Week P would be the most appropriate, as they were never known as Lee and Peters to my knowledge? For the same reason, Cher and Sonny won't be appearing in Week C (well, they won't be appearing in Week S either for that matter.)

I think we have to use the HMV catalogue system.
ie chuck everything in a box and sell it down the car boot sale.
