About a year or so ago in cost cutters on Gorton Road in Reddish just past Houldsworth Square Ok, so that's back 12 months or so in the DeLorean, a 30 min walk to the station, then a Merseyrail train to Liverpool Central, 15 min walk to Lime Street, hour on the train to Stockport, 20 min walk to the bus terminal....... .....What number bus is it to Houldsworth Square again?

spangles genuinely were lovely. loads of weird flavours. toffos? particularly the mixed tube of plain/banana/chocolate/strawberry. texans? ("a man's gotta chew what a man's gotta chew") wickers, which might possibly have had timothy claypole in the advert? corona pop? their cherry/orange/limeade/dandelion and burdock were all lovely in their nobbly glass bottles. barr's jusoda and strike cola? snooker ball bubble gum which was too big to fit in your mouth?
i found an old style sweet shop that was doing quarters of shandy bottles a couple of years ago. they were lovely too!

... I know we did a thread like this some time ago, but I thought it would be fun to start it again on here. I'll kick us off. Gold rush Bubble Gum, little yellow 'nuggets' of bubble gum in cool string tied bags! Probably showing my age here! I got a packet from a company trying to sell me some IT solution a couple of months back. So, maybe it is only for IT solution sellers these days ;-)

Sally lunns! A huge currant bun that was shaped like a vienna, with a split along the top that was coated with icing like a huge iced finger and stuffed with cream, they were amazing!

Lowe's Vanilla slices. Going to the shop on Princes Street. The Vanillas were huge and they brought them out to the shop in multiple large trays. They got taken over in the late 80's by Martins the Bakers, but they were not the same. It is just that image of tray upon tray of delicious Vanilla slices that will never reappear.
