Just bought my first smartphone and decided that I'd have a bespoke ringtone. I'm sorting through my CDs and at the moment I'm choosing between Eight Miles High (Byrds), Hollywood Nights (Bob Seger*) and some early Santana like Jingo-La-Ba. I've heard Baba O'Riley (Who) on someone else's phone and that's pretty good too. So, my questions are this: what ringtone do you have? what would you have given the choice? * that would be Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band for my fellow pedants.

I have Broken Bones by Anti-Flag! YouTube it!
I'm very happy with mine but I'd be happy with Barbie Girl if it meant other than the annoying iPhone one!

'eight miles high' is quite a good one, cos you need something that comes in loudly straight away.
i always used to have 'in this home on ice' by clap your hands say yeah for that very reason. unfortunately it's a bit more fiddly with the iphone to put snippets of your own song library on. i downloaded an app to do it months ago, but you have to ferk about in itunes and it all just looked like too much effort. i was going to have 'here come the warm jets' by brian eno, but have just got some generic iphone b*ll*cks instead at the moment.

I've put in Eight Miles High which, being about 30 seconds intro, works quite well. The Ringdroid app works well on Android but I'm not sure about the toffs on iPhone. Probably try some Steely Dan next.

That'd be 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number', presumably, archie?

'Fraid not, not long enough. Reeling In The Years is favourite at the moment but Do It Again has a minute's worth of instrumental to play with.

I don't do ringtones anymore, my phone is almost always on silent these days. A ringing phone is a bloody nuisance, a silent one is easily forgotten about!

If I had to pick one, mine would be 'Kashmir' by Led Zep. No long quite intro or build up and going off the moment it gets going, there'd be no ignoring it because it instantly kicks arse!

Len-nie. Is a Palace fan! bah! i was going to say that! have seen the blackpool fans doing it at wembley after winning the play-off v cardiff (and possibly the yeovil one before). don't really like it much as a footy song though.

I have the Benny Hill theme as my ringtone at the moment.
I used to have Soul Limbo (the BBC Cricket music) and then Stevie Wonder - Superstitious which both worked really well too.
