An even first half in which they looked toothless and we looked marginally better. I thought we held a good shape when out of possession and made it difficult for them, whilst keeping it on the deck mainly ourselves. Sending off was a bit of a melee from my awkward viewing position on the little away terrace. Linesman in front of us gave a signal for a corner which it could never have been. Thought Mulhern ran really hard for no reward, there was a fifteen yard gap between him and the rest of the team.
Second half they used the space from the extra man well, having transferred myself to the seats (without paying the extra £2!) I could see the patterns of play better. Poor marking (non existent!) on a set piece for the first. Decent cross found their left back left back on his own at our back post for the second. We had no real shape and sat back so deep they had room to play it around in front of us 25/30 yards out, then finding the player in space to create another opportunity. I’m not sure how many we cleared off the line and scrambled past the post but it felt like they could have scored another 3 or 4. Bell came on and showed very little energy or passion. The one time (literally the one!) Osborne went on a run at their defence Bell just stood still waiting for a pass 30 yards out, not running an angle or trying to draw a defender. Very frustrating. My last away game for a while...

Oh dear - my first game since seeing the lads at Wrexham - what a difference? Tiredness and lack of confidence shone through for me. A few nice touches here and there but to be honest I think we have a few problems: Up front - no one seems to be running into space, looking to take on players, and very shot shy. I'm sure Nyal Bell is a nice guy - but a footballer? - well! Midfield is not firing at the moment - and losing Sam to the handball just made the task so much more difficult - we were very narrow all game and Solihull used the wings to perfection. Defence was ok, you could see we missed Ash. Cowan had one of his poorer games - normally I am one of his fans but not the other night. Ben had no chance with either goal, and if it had not been for a few goal line scrambles and clearances from him and the defense it could have been 5-0.
I do worry about what is happening - crowds are up, league revenue goes up from being promoted, we lose two of our best players, we replace them with Alex Curran who is now out on loan, we bring in two loanees, and now we are on an awful run. I think a few players need to be brought in - can we actually get anybody except for loans or players who do not have a club at the moment. I still have faith in JG, and he has done so much in developing the club - maybe its time to release more funds so that we can bring in the players to improve the squad, otherwise this could be a long season after the amazing initial promise.

But who cares about County? How was the real ale, craft beers and microbrewery in the Pup and Duckling!?!?!? By the looks of it, only two people off CH went and they were good enough to provide their own take on proceedings as best as they could, or felt like doing after watching that on a soaking wet Tuesday night. Collinge doesn't count, as he deserted this place ages ago and was only posting on here to promote a boozer. Maccy has also provided his usual professional view via his Official Match Report, so surely that's enough to give you an idea of just how crap we were?

I can certainly certify that Dudley's report is correct, as after I re-looked at it realised I stood next to him for the first half!

I can tell you that the Pepsi Max in the harvester was of the same standard as everywhere else.
Hope that helps

It was an attempt at sarcastic humour. I did my best! Use the smilies then, cobber, as your level of sarcasm is right on the limit sometimes - you know it makes sense!
