I do wonder what he has done to be so much in Jim’s bad books. To me he seems like a perfect Jim style player.

I don't know whether or not he is in Jim's bad books, Duds, but I'm pleased to see him hitting the ground running. Maybe Jim just needs players to grind out results right now and Dimiao isn't that kind of player, so loaning him out helps both Jim to save a bit of money (assuming Curzon are paying his wages) and the lad to get some game time? Whatever Jim's reasoning, hopefully this spell will do him good and he'll come back raring to go, with County in a much better position to accommodate his obvious talent.

#StockportCounty have re-signed Ben Jackson on loan until the end of the season.
“Positive talks” ongoing with Tom Walker & Devante Rodney (update on Monday).
Tyler Garratt has been offered deal to end of the season.
Joe Leesley & Adam Hammill now return to their parent clubs.

Shame about Leesley, I thought he'd performed well over Christmas but Hamill. Who? Not quite sure what happened there but he clearly didn't fit in.

Tom Walker tweeted to thank us for his time here (so moving on) and Stevenage have taken Leesley on loan until the end of the season.

And Rodney tweets his thanks too, so neither of the Salford pair stay on.

Jim needs to get some serious quality in now, especially to replace Walker.
Why did Jim get rid of Walker a couple of years ago when he was our player, does anyone know?

We hit 45 points, four loan players leave while one of our current players is offered a contract extension until the summer. It feels a bit like we've settled for staying up.

Jim needs to get some serious quality in now, especially to replace Walker. Why did Jim get rid of Walker a couple of years ago when he was our player, does anyone know? He just wasn't very impressive - and this was in a squad which had just been 'refreshed' with the arrival of Bohan Dixon. He moved to FCUM and, after a short spell wearing the #3 there, was picked up in the January by Salford who I believe also uaed him in a more defensive position. So all the moves were within the NLN. As it stands, the 3 behind Bell are currently likely to be Jackson (and he was doing well before he was recalled), Osborne and Thomas. There's then a lack of support off the bench for those positions. (It now seems highly doubtful we'll be seeing much impact from Dimaio, Curran is divisions below on loan and unproven, and Stephenson isn't fit.) JG and the boys have done fantastic to get the points on the board that they have, so hopefully some certainty on thw future of the club is now forthcoming and this will allow for planning to take place - it feels like the 'not knowing' impacts next season, nevermind the remainder of this one.

It's the start of January and there's a distinct end of season feel about the club. A sense that mission accomplished, i.e staying up, and a pause while we see how the club prepares for next season. It all feels slightly surreal with 16 games still to play.

And it's unfortunate to see some negative comments towards JG on social media regarding these players not staying on. While it's understandable that people are disappointed that someone who has made the impact Walker has made isn't remaining with us, why JG is anyone's 'target' for this is beyond me. The only thing he's done wrong, and I post this as a joke, is that he happened to have reached the target he was set this season (keeping us safe) too quickly. What was he thinking?

Some people need to have someone to blame for every failure to live up go their expectations. I'd suggest that they listen to "The dark days" if they want to know what a complete mismanaged shambles looks like. The club in its current form appears to be solvent, it has one of the best managers in the lower leagues, a youngish squad that can be improved, a decent following and is generally in better nick than it has been for years. I know it's difficult because the volume at which these people whine is in direct proportion to their ignorance but the best thing is to ignore them for the gobshites they clearly are.
