Agreed, Gazz-man. His mental toughness is absolutely unbelievable. Brilliant win!

Not a Murray fan, but a good but hard win. god only knows what it is doing to his body. I reckon he will retire after Wimbledon.

His body clock will certainly be reeling, too, after having had to play until four in the morning! Crazy...

For once World Athletics have shown some common sense and decency. Trans women have no place in elite sport, especially if they have been through puberty! World Athletics bans transgender women from competing in female world ranking events www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/65051900

Just read that Jim Hines has passed away aged 76.
Who is he?
The first person to run the 100m in under 10 seconds.
Quite why he's not a household name and Roger Bannister is, I don't know. There must have been a time when a sub 10s 100m was as unimaginable as the sub 4 minute mile.

The Matthews final is (kind of) another example of this, Eps, in spite of the fact that the great Stan Mortensen bagged a hat-trick - nothing should have overshadowed that achievement, but all talk was about Stanley Matthews. The British media, eh? I had never heard of Jim Hines until you posted this, but thanks to you I do now, as do others that didn't know that have now read this. Thanks for posting, mate. RIP, Jim.

A great sportsman who went on to play NFL too. He set the world record of 9.95 at the Mexico Olympics in 1968, which stood for 15 years the longest one person has held the record (although Usain Bolt is now approaching it). Other events at those games such as the black power salute rather overshadowed his amazing performance.

England being England yet again in the Ashes.
I thought it was a mistake to declare so early in the first test and we paid for it, and I also believe that the Aussies were insulted by that and it has simply motivated them even more to give us a thumping.
This has all the signs of a very quick 3-0 defeat for me, possibly even a whitewash.

Hoisted by their own petard, I'm afraid.
By all means make the game interesting by going for it but everyone could see what the Aussie short ball game plan was and this game has been lost in 20 minutes of madness yesterday losing 3 wickets to the a catch in the same position !!! Crazy stuff.
5 nil whitewash on the way unless they all calm down a little.

Can't for the life of me see why people are complaining regarding Bairstow's 'controversial' run-out, as it was a smart bit of thinking from Carey that was rightly ruled in favour of.
The only criticism should be levelled at Bairstow, as it was a poor lack of judgement on his part and he was punished for it.
I now expect both sides to have a few attempts at that between now and the end of this series.

Correct decision but poor on the Aussie's not withdrawing the appeal I feel.
Lazy batting though. At least it then sparked Stokes into action and in the end it cost the Aussies 40 runs in quick time.
Broad is being immense.

The catching in this series from England has been diabolical. Is Bairstow taking the piss? Fluffed an earlier chance, then finally manages an acrobatic catch to claim a ball that hit the thigh pad, maybe he should try catching the ones that matter? Root is the biggest culprit so far in this match, however, dropping an absolute dolly, and now the Aussies are punishing us - sound familiar? I'm going finding something better to do with my day off.

Good catch from Root after fluffing one on the previous ball, which showed good character for me - nicely done.
