Looks like it isn't going to be a case of Oswell that ends well....

Oh well, he was this season's Danny Lloyd so it'll be for someone to step up and become next season's Jason Oswell!

no luck to him if he goes to that tinpot set of divas.

Couldn't have put it better myself - excellent play on the stadium name, too!

If this happens that shows an astounding lack of ambition from Oswell, to move to a club 45 minutes down the road, in our league, that by all accounts are never more than a couple of lost tenners away from financial meltdown is just a ridiculous decision.
I refuse to believe they’d be offering him much more than is if anything at all. I’d rather him stay but I’d be much more upset if we lost Warburton.

Some posts on MB suggest that he's wanting to move closer to his day job and has no interest in going full-time, but who knows.

ok. as his work is actually in chester, i can understand it from a practical point of view. it will, however, be clear that he has little footballing ambition if he leaves county for chester, regardless of them having been in the conference until recently.

That is the difficult bit for Gannon and his team to wrestle with; signing players with ambition who want to play full time football either this season or next at a division higher. And that is difficult for example, I understand that Danny Lloyd took a big pay cut to sign for Peterborough, not every player would do that.
We seem to be in that in between level of football which is a mix of (a) semi retired old pros who still love to play, (b) players who have never made it but are good enough to play semi pro, but football is second to their day job (eg Oswell by the look of it) and (c) youngsters who want to try and make a go of it before they become (b).
Hopefully we get the right mix of players to put together a team that can challenge this season.

It's what I call football purgatory!

If he does get a shot at a full time or league club then fair enough. It shows he has some ambition. (Are you looking board?)
