I'm just home from my nightshift having some tea and toast while watching the BBC breakfast programme, when the presenter Dan Walker was reading the front page tabloid headlines.
He first points to the Daily Mirror headline of poor NHS funding meaning that we as a country have the worst Cancer survival rate. He and his co-presenter Louise Minchin say bugger all else regarding this shocking revelation and instead they move onto a smaller headline on the Mirror front page about some f***ing poncey dancer being sacked by Strictly, which they then go on to discuss at considerable length...
WHAT THE ACTUAL f**k?
This country really is in a f***ing mess, and it's no wonder with sh*t like that being deemed a more important issue by the BBC.
Wtf.

'Blue Planet II' team filmed ethereal snailfish in the Mariana Trench. "While the 'Blue Planet II' team was exploring the Mariana Trench, they managed to film an ethereal snailfish approximately 5,000 meters underwater.....the pressure at the bottom is equivalent to the force of having 50 jumbo jets stacked on top of one another." watched the whole series, and while my favourite of the many gorgeous shots was them 3-D panning round the pod of dolphins leaping through sunlight dappled breaking waves in slow-motion (!), if we didn't know it already, the series just went to prove that there is some f***ing weird sh*t in our oceans (as well as all our sh*t, chemicals, and plastic bags). it really needs nick ross popping up at the end to say 'remember folks, as long as you're not a thousand feet down on the sea floor, you're not going to be faced with some glowing nightmare made solely out of spines and teeth......so don't have nightmares' fantastic stuff though, and that's the balance to dan walker and his sacked dancer.

and as we've been doing nature, this is from a few years ago but it was on bbc4 last week so is on catch up: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01k784hit's about the wildlife of london - it's obvious that foxes and deer would make their way in, but a seal in the dock by billingsgate market, a flock of parakeets, scorpions? there was a lot on the relatively ordinary - lots of pigeons, but there has to be a bit of a 'wtf' moment when you see 2,000 parakeets roosting in hyde park, surely? some really pretty camera work in it as well. i don't watch that many nature programmes, but i liked the incongruousness of this.

I think Academies are a Tory wheeze to siphon as many millions in public money into private pockets as possible, a Tory wheeze designed to undermine the effectiveness of local councils by removing schools from their jurisdiction and a Tory wheeze designed to perpetuate the fallacy that all things publicly owned are bad and all things privately owned are good. You know, like Carillion, Capita, the East Coast Mainline which was taken into public ownership after failing as a private business only to be sold at a knock down rate by the Tories to their donors after returning to profitability whilst in public ownership. And then for it to be bailed out again by the public purse after it's new private owners started whinging about how little profit they were making. As for Academies, I think I'm right in saying that they don't even have to employ qualified teachers! Wtf would you send your child to a school that doesn't employ qualified teachers?

Hit the nail on the head there, NYE.
Academies and Free Schools - one of Mr Gove's great ideas. Nuff said.

why tf would anyone vote for a shower of sh*t capable of pi**ing with children's futures like this? Now I've remembered why Saturday afternoons are for football. One of the beauties of driving thousands of miles a year with work and a 250 mile round trip for home games is occasionally not driving anywhere so I decided that Maidenhead was too far so didn't bother. All of which has given me time to read the papers.....and put my blood pressure up lol

How are people unable to see the damage that these people are doing to our schools and hospitals?
These stories should be leading the news, the media is so sheep like these days it is really frustrating.
