This is a tough one for me. Tunnicliffe was by no means the worst player we've ever had and he certainly managed to do something from a defensive position that Peter Thompson didn't (i.e. score occasionally), but on the basis we aren't judging CHUF purely on talent, and on the basis the other players in your list were infinitely more likeable, I'll go for Tunnicliffe too please.

Leslie Thompson was close, as he clearly did not want to be with us on his loan spell, one of Jim's poorer signings.
However, it's local lad made good who unbelievably , let it all turn bad.
Mr Tunnicliffe it is.

tunni is a bad taste in the mouth of all county fans, but replacing dicko with peter thompson? "look at his record!" "he should be playing higher than your level" (linfield fans)...followed by "he's f***ing useless" (me).
i have never seen a player through on goal look as beset with confidence issues as him. no pace to get away, no guile to beat a recovering defender, no finish for a 'pure finisher'. dreadful. at least carl baker (the other half of the £300k administration-baiting duo) had the decency to look...well...decent.

When CHUF first got going the worse-than-useless Zeke Tomlinson - about whom I waxed derogatorily in a piece for C.H.A.O.S. - would, to my mind, have been a shoe-in under 'T'.
But since then, of course, we have had to suffer the second coming of James Tunnicliffe. It is often said that returning to a former club will not recreate former glories, and 'Tunny' illustrated that to the max. He gets my vote this week, and, if consigned, will be ideal company for the other second-spell inmate, 'Eldinho'.

It finished 5-1 to Tunni!
I'll add him in later on.
