Some excellent points, all.
Jim knows what's needed and he will succeed in getting us out of this division - of that I have absolutely no doubt.

I'd rather have Jim retaining the odd questionable player (to the outsider, at least), than a joker who inexplicably bins an entire squad every other month.

I've been as vocal as the next man about how poor Amis has been (and the next man was Fudgie), but I have this niggling feeling there's something Jim sees in him that we mere mortals don't, and a month or two out on loan somewhere, or a summer working hard, could see him be a success next season.
Like a reverse John Marsden, perhaps.

Late to the party on all this... but, removing emotions, those 'released' decisions make perfect sense when thinking about a team that can compete at this level and moving forward.
K is a credit to himself, keeping in great shape at 34/35 and having a good impact on the pitch - clearly not in terms of goals (as JG would have known!) but the stats of pts per game with him starting was impressive. Hopefully that professionalism has rubbed off on some younger players wanting to do well in their careers. I'm glad that he got a nice send off when subbed... the moment did have a 'last game' feel even if he did want to continue next season. But if we're to score more goals, the vision of the forward line has to be different to this season. Anyway, respect, big man!
Ross gave his best and kept the squad together through the season. I don't think he was captain at Chorley (?) so that's a good feat. However, it's perhaps fair to say that if Thomas had been fit then Minihan would have been 1st choice RB all season when comparing the performances seen at RB. Hopefully Ross can find a good club and maybe someone will see a solid CB in him moving forwards... as I do!
CMW came over through Ross and, even without that being the case, was a more obvious release. If he had the application to match his ability, he would be playing FL. There's nothing unique about gifted people not applying themselves but it never seems to get any less frustrating to see!

yeah there were little moments with CMW. sometimes a visionary, pinpoint long pass, or an unhurriedness in possession. against gloucester i thought as usual that we didn't get enough out of him, but even then there was one little short pass he played where he took the pace out of the incoming ball, knocking it with laser accuracy. you can see he's got the skillz, but then loads of wasters have.

Danny Lloyd had signed for Posh... Gutting to see him go but a fantastic move for him to sign for a league 1 club on a 3 year deal!
Best of luck Danny!

Sad news - but not surprising. And a three-year deal at a League One club is sensational for Danny. The very best of luck to him.
