If I'm not mistaken, Keith Briggs was/is the assistant at Southport as well! Quite the County connection in that dugout!

Yup, if they continue on the path they've been on then Southport could certainly do an Alty. Years of calling for change, not happy with the model (can remember suggestions they should go hybrid pro/part-time for a long time). This time fans planned a 'red card' show at a game to say 'enough is enough' to Clapham. Apparently local a multi-millionaire wants to look at taking it on but has had no reply. Anyway, the way you know something serious has happened at Southport is because their fans forum goes to 'member only' view. It happens a few times every season!

As much as it would be a good thing if he stayed I honestly wouldn't be bothered if Lloyd moved on, Seeing his tweet after the game on the County wall to me gave the impression he was looking for a move away! I'd love to see 3 players scoring 15 goals + next season rather than 1 player scoring 30 goals. The competitiveness showed at the awards night as he was happy not winning the main award. It seemed to be putting all our eggs in one basket and we were 'lucky' he didnt sustain an injury as without him we wouldnt have got to where we did. Good luck to Danny.

Interesting comment from Worcester City - via the Nat League website
"This season in particular has seen significant playing budgets being available to many other clubs at Step 2, making it an elite tier of non-league football with over-inflated player wages, and impossible for the Club to remain competitive whilst operating within its means".

On the injury theme, we need more depth in the squad....the injuries to Winter, Minihan, Hampson & Smalley certainly cost us that extra point

Goal-less at half-time in this afternoon's Play-off Final at The Shay - the start of which was delayed for 15 minutes.

1-1 extra time.
Ebbsfleet won the South section 2-1 after going down to 10 men and an away goal.

Whopping attendance of 7,920 (including 1,941 from Chorley) at The Shay - which smashes our National League North record... although we can still lay claim to one for a league, as opposed to a play-off, match!
