I never asked anything sir. I merely mentioned it because Downy and Benno have both gone for A nightmare on Elm street so didn't want them wasting their votes on a film that is invalid for this week.

I was going to mention A nightmare on Elm street too but was under the impression this should of been mention in the week A?? Oh, it's just that I understood the question marks to signify that a question had been asked?

Sorry, mate, but you're wrong - I wasn't spoiling for an argument. I asked you a genuine question.

I have to confess that I had forgotten what was decided - but, on looking back to Week A, see there was agreement to include any titles beginning with 'A' or 'An' in that week. My mistake. I will change my vote to No Country for Old Men.

tim burton's stop-motion 'the nightmare before christmas' is lovely to look at, and the dylan doc 'no direction home' is peerless. my 'n' though is 'night of the living dead', the first -and best- of george romero's 'dead' films. the later ones in the series are pretty bad, but this came out in 1968, unrated (it was before film ratings were established), and is a great film. if some of the dialogue seems a bit laboured, it was mostly improvised by the actors. a black actor was cast in the only really sympathetic role in the film, which was ahead of its time, and despite the hammy music it was still really effective and a bit unnerving the first time i saw it, twenty odd years ago and having seen most of the slasher flicks of the eighties. it's also public domain as they messed up the copywriting, so if you fancy a spooky old classic, you can get it on youtube and all over, including here.

Naked Gun, The is (narrowly) leading the way with two votes, compared to one vote each for all of the following:
National Lampoon's Animal House Never Say Never Again Night at the Museum Night of the Hunter, The Night of the Living Dead No Country For Old Men No Way Out
One day to go!

Apologies, benno - it's just that I don't like Horror movies and Leslie Nielsen is a real hero of mine.

Leslie Nielsen is a real hero of mine. Seconded! Frank: Now, Jane, what can you tell us about the man you saw last night? Jane: He’s Caucasian. Ed: Caucasian? Jane: Yeah, you know, a white guy. A moustache. About six-foot-three. Frank: Awfully big moustache.
