Here are you five starters for Week N:
Naked Gun, The (1988) National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989) Negotiator, The (1998) Night at the Museum (2006) Nuns on the Run (1990)
Get voting.

The obligatory Altman film, Nashville, is on the short-list but I'm choosing between two National Lampoon film. Some moments of NL's Vacation were very funny but National Lampoon's Animal House is a belly laugh from start to finish and gets my vote this week.

Mentions for:
North By Northwest - Classic Hitchcock with Cary Grant
I love the Night At The Museum movies too, a real throwback to entertaining family movies with proper, live actors and not a Pixar logo in sight.
Non-Stop with Liam Neeson is brilliant too.
However, No Way Out gets my vote - a brilliant movie with a fantastic twist.

On the dark end of the spectrum Natural Born Killers.
However I do love Night at the Museum and made a special effort to visit the museum itself in New York, so that gets my vote.

Night of the Hunter, The.
Going back to the '50s for my choice this week - although the way in which the film was shot, with a view to creating effect and suspense, owed quite a lot to the silent-movie era.
One of the most frightening films ever made (and in black and white, naturally) - without having to resort to graphic imagery. Not to mention an under-rated all-time classic that heavily influenced the likes of Lynch, Scorsese and Spike Lee.

Nun's on the run is a great shout Sandy, loved that film back in the day.
My Mentions this week are...
Natural Born Killers New Jack City The Nutty Professor (the original with Jerry Lewis) Nanny Mcphee Napoleon Dynamite Now you see me Never say Never again
But as you've probably already guessed my winner has to be one of my favourite dude's of all time, Mr Leslie Nielsen and his Naked Gun.

Think I'd have to agree with Downy, Nightmare on Elm Street, think it was one of the first scary movies I saw.

More in the N list than I realised, once I thought about it...
North by Northwest - Hitchcock classic Nighmare Before Christmas - I'm always up for a Christmas film! Night of the Hunter - agreed, macc, it's a brilliant film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Terror - even older than macc's, its a silent film from 1922. I came across the film via Nosferatu D2 (one of my fave bands at the moment). I started watching it on youtube and couldn't stop! It's the telling of Dracula and is seriously chilling along with the wonderful score Naked - Mike Leigh classic Nil By Mouth - Gary Olman's first and last film as director NeverEnding Story - probably aged badly, but I remember enjoying this as a kid
I'm going for Naked Gun. Not as funny as the orginal Police Squad, but still head and shoulders above most film comedies.

I have to confess that I had forgotten what was decided - but, on looking back to Week A, see there was agreement to include any titles beginning with 'A' or 'An' in that week.

Surely - just for the length of it - we should give it to:
"Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D"
But I shall go for
Never say never again
