Here is our first article of the new year.
Piece of cake! Now for the tricky bit - and trying to write a report on what we had to endure this afternoon...

Hatter in Macc writes:
Afternoon, everyone - and a very Happy New Year to all Hatters, as well as to today’s visitors from Telford.
The Bucks, no doubt, will be feeling as fresh as proverbial young gazelles - having, like County, missed out on a match last Saturday due to the rain. Two unbeaten records in 2016 at stake, then...!
The postponement of our trip to Harrogate was a bit of a blow on three fronts: firstly, preventing, as it did, an opportunity for the team to avenge its defeat against Town on Boxing Day, and to build on a much-improved performance at Stalybridge 48 hours later; second, denying those Hatters who had planned to travel on 2nd January a taste of what is, arguably, the best food in the League; and, finally, ruling out any excuse for me not to spend time instead with my nearby North Yorkshire in-laws!
(I do love ‘em really, though... and shall be more than glad of an overnight stay there, now that the fixture has been rescheduled for the first Tuesday night in February!)
Right, then - over to my esteemed co-contributor, who, as coincidence would have it, has just asked me to lend him two bucks for the evening.
I doe-n’t care to dwell, mind, on what on earth he might want to do with a pair of the Macc Towers rabbits...!
Sandbach Hatter writes:
Two bucks?! Doe! I think you misheard me, Maccy, I asked to borrow two hundred! You see, Mrs Sandy wants to renew our wedding vows in Italy next week, and I need to be in Venison Tuesday, but the flights are so deer. We c-antelope without it! (Look, we don’t get paid for doing this, all right?!)
Moving swiftly on, and speaking of game, our Belgian Football competition, ‘Jingle Bel-gians’, concluded shortly before Christmas - and, after a hotly-contested final between Maccy, Big Fudge, Downy and Ceefer, it was Fudgie who came out on top. There will be another competition starting soon, so make sure you join in!
Elsewhere, you might have noticed that our lovely festive banner made way for some fireworks on New Year’s Eve, and Gazza has now replaced this with some fantastic artwork commemorating the fact County Heaven has just turned five years old - happy birthday to us!
Last, but certainly not least, December saw the return of our annual ‘County Heaven Awards’ ceremony. I’ll be revealing the Heavener-based accolades in next week’s programme, but, for now, here are the two winners on the pitch:
Player of the Year - Lewis Montrose
Goal of the Year - Glenn Rule (for his sublime volley at Nuneaton)
Of course, it’s the Heavener awards that everyone really cares about, so tune in next week for the winners!
