Not that anyone will be in much of a mood to read it right now, following tonight's reverse - but here is our contribution to the programme...

Evening, everyone - and welcome to Edgeley Park on a Tuesday night.
Such are the peculiarities of the current season’s League schedule, that could be the very last time you read those words this term - notwithstanding, of course, any subsequent need to rearrange postponed home fixtures or to hold, in later rounds (ever the optimist...!), FA Trophy replays and Cheshire Senior Cup-ties here.
It will also be a little unusual for County to have completed, before November is out, both matches against two Vanarama North outfits - one of whom being this evening’s visitors - before even clapping eyes for the first time on a quartet of other clubs.
One side that the Hatters will have played once by tonight is Lowestoft. Our article needed to be done and dusted before the long schlep to the Far East - but, fingers crossed, the team will have returned home with a good result... and I myself have made it back to SK3 from all the way yonder in time for this evening!
Hopefully, too, the Hatters will fare rather better in their ‘second leg’ contest with Solihull than they did in that against Chorley earlier this month.
Not that it will be an easy task, mind - with the Moors remaining, as they do (at least before last Saturday’s matches), with the meanest defence in our Division and the only unbeaten record across all three of the National Leagues. All the... erm, moor reason for us, as Twelfth Man representatives, to get behind the players tonight.
Moving on, then, from Soli-hull to County Heaven... what moors-els of news do you have for us, Sandy?!

Ot-hello there, Maccy (ooh, a bit of highbrow punnery for our more educated readers), and thanks for the introduction!
Nearly two years ago, I launched our first-ever European Football competition on County Heaven, ‘The Italian Job’. The idea was that each entrant was allocated a Serie A side at random, and had to compete in a knock-out competition to determine our overall winner. Such was its (moderate) success, a number of sequels followed, including ‘No Spain, No Gain’, ‘Last German Standing’, ‘The French Connection’, ‘Going Dutch’ and, most recently, ‘Any Portugal in a Storm’.
The latest competition, ‘Jingle Bel-gians’ (I make no apologies for the title), has just started, and while the teams have now been allocated (so it’s sadly too late to join in), feel free to pop along to County Heaven to follow the tournament’s progress - and, who knows, maybe you could win the next one?!
Elsewhere, Lennie’s Limerick Lounge has been as busy as ever, with recent wins going to Epworth Hatter (for BPA at home), Gazza (for today’s opponents away), and Downy (for Chorley at home). Lennie goes to great lengths to create witty and challenging limericks for our members to complete for every fixture during the season, so do please sign up, take part, and make his tremendous efforts worthwhile.
Right, that’s moor than enough from me - enjoy the match everyone!
