Goodness me - been a while since we had one of these to post.
And how nice to be able to do so following a two-goal win... County's first, incidentally (and rather incredibly), since Valentine's Day!
Happy reading, gang

Good afternoon, and welcome back to EP for the first time in over a month. Welcome also to today’s visitors, Bradford Park Avenue, who, as ever, we wish a safe journey each way… just with no points!
For those of us who cannot regularly attend away fixtures, the past month has felt a little like the close season - but, thankfully, Maccy has been on hand to keep us up-to-date with his excellent tweeting and match-reporting on behalf of the club. He really is the finest public service since the NHS.
Aside from that, there has been plenty on County Heaven to keep our members entertained between matches. My esteemed co-contributor managed to follow up his recent quiz win (which he shared with team-mates, Gazza and Bradninch), by claiming September’s title in Downy’s Prediction League, and, at the time of writing, he is currently joint top - with yours truly - for October, too!
Elsewhere, our alphabetised index of evil (‘C.H.I.V.E.’) is ticking along nicely, and we have now added ‘Daily Mail/Daily Express’, ‘Eurovision Song Contest’, ‘FIFA’, ‘Grunting in Tennis’ and (misuse of) ‘Hazard Lights’ to the vault, for weeks D-H respectively.
Lastly, if you need a chuckle, our ‘Bar Jokes’ thread is still going strong, with Epworth, Archie and Fudgie being the latest Heaveners to add some corkers - get along to CH to check them out!
Right then, Maccy, in the words of Delia… “Let’s be Avenue!”

Ah, yes - the home of the Police! Arf.
And, talking of home, isn’t it nice to be back at ours? The trusty Macc-mobile certainly thinks so, anyway - after three weekends of following County on the road which have seen it clock up almost three hundred miles in round-trips.
The four points from two League matches, and, with them, a further couple of clean sheets to follow the single-goal win against Alfreton - when last we trod the hallowed turf in SK3 - did not represent a bad return for the diesel. Suffering two motorway-closures on the way up to, and back from Fylde, for an FA Cup exit before September was out, on the other hand...
With County having no Cup-tie two Saturdays ago, I opted to spend the afternoon watching today’s opponents draw at Salford City - to whom we Hatters owe a debt of gratitude for shading the subsequent replay across the Pennines and enabling our hosting of The Avenue to proceed as planned!
In doing so, we welcome back Danny Schofield, who featured briefly in County’s midfield during 2013 (and who was, in my view, Man of the Match a fortnight previously) - as well as, possibly, the friendliest set of opposing supporters in the National League North.
Enjoy your visit, Avenueites... only not too much, eh?!
