Morning all
Our resident Tweeter is up next, so here are his nominations for Week I:
Iceland Supermarket Advertisements
The very nadir of modern-day commercial television. If the crass sexism of their slogan - 'That's why Mums go to Iceland' (I mean, what was this, the 1950s, fer chrissakes?!) - was difficult to forgive, the consequential prolonging of Kerry Katona's... erm, 'career' by some 4 (FOUR!) years was simply deplorable.
They were at their worst when KK tried (but failed) to sing:
At least Peter Andre - bless him - had the good grace to say that he found appearing in a later ad 'embarrassing'. Rather poor timing on his part to have done so while still under contract with Iceland, mind...!
Instagram
Macc Junior and all his Year Seven friends will hate me for including this newish kid in Social Media-town, but I have seen enough of it to know that it is essentially Facebook for the illiterate.
It's bad enough reading about the mundane events in the lives of people who don't matter, although at least Facebook does offer the chance of some well-crafted, witty prose from time to time. When such events are portrayed in pictures - usually selfies - creativity takes its leave. No, I don't want to hear about what you had for breakfast... and I certainly don't want to see it!
Worse still, for users of an impressionable - indeed, of any - age, Instagram is a potentially dangerous, and soul-destroying vanity project.
Enough already. And delete!
'In The Know' Merchants
A little closer to us, as Heaveners, this one - albeit not, for some considerable time now, on our own august forum.
Those from Planet 'ITK' - certainly so far as County is concerned - are not 'in', and they don't 'know'. Rather, their attempts to break exclusive stories are either so far wide of the mark to be complete fiction (and often very poorly-written fiction at that), or with a semblance of half-truth that, having been let out of the bag too early, end up damaging the very club they claim to support.
I, for one, am taking a stand against these unfortunates. I haven't set foot in Morrisons for two years!
************
Over to you now....

In the know merchants, I think they just enjoy stirring up trouble, I can't say I know that much about instagram to cast judgement and for me all adverts could be binned they spoil t.v programmes and films, but my vote has to go to in the know merchants.

Yes, I'm not too familiar with Instagram either (but what I do see annoys me), and although the Iceland adverts are irritating, I'm far more irritated by Katona herself (thanks, Maccy, for denying me that suggestion for Week K!), so I'll also go for 'ITK merchants'.

ITK people don't bother me at all, Once you realise that that person is full of the brown stuff you can just laugh off their elaborate stories as you know they are clueless and just like to be centre of the gossip attention! Again the Iceland advert's don't bother me either as my tiny bladder allows for me to miss the the majority of all TV ad's that hit the screen. So for me it has to be Instagram, My mate told me to download it about 2 years ago as it was amazing......I'm still to put a post on there as I haven't a clue what to do and the boring photos that I do see when I visit the app every 4 months are as dull as dishwater so it's just a pretty pointless waste of time all round.

Aww I like Instagram! Dont judge me too harshly ladies and gents!
Iceland ads are irritating but easy enough to tune out.
Got to be ITK people. They act superior like they are more important than the rest of us because they know some inconsequential sh*te that probably isnt even true.

Good stuff, macc.
The Iceland ads are dire. However, other than sport, I rarely watch tv live these days, so I can avoid them.
In the know merchants are not even worthy of the attention of being thrown into the vault. Starve them of the publicity oxygen by ignoring them.
So, it's instagram for me. "essentially Facebook for the illiterate" is one the funniest and most astute things I've read in a long time!

Instagram - home to all the perverts who like children and pose as their peers - social media has a place but everyone needs to be safe when using it!!!Please be careful!

ITK. I've no knowledge of Instagram and, although I suspect that the run up to Christmas might change my mind, the adverts in the programmes I watch seem not to feature the Ring of Kerry.
