Another home game, another point (or two dropped), another sending-off. And another report that I will not be chomping at the bit (oops... ) to compile of a Saturday evening...
So, in the meantime, have another of our programme articles! Here is today's:

Good afternoon, and welcome back for the second of our three consecutive Saturday league matches at EP this month. Today we welcome Brackley, who parted ways with manager Jon Brady just under a week ago (ruining the ‘Brady Bunch’ pun I’ve had lined up for ages...).
New members are joining CH thick and fast (although one of them turned out to be ‘Lennie’, who had set up a duplicate account by accident) - but, if you do sign up, make sure to introduce yourself in our ‘new members’ section and get involved. There really is something for everyone.
Aside from all the obvious County-related topics, there is a separate room for general football chat, as well as one for all other sports. No sport is too obscure for us Heaveners – go on, try us!
We also have our ever popular Games Room, where Downy runs a weekly prediction competition (and congrats to Macc Junior, for again beating his old man to the August title!), Lennie conjures up amusing limericks for members to finish off each match, and then there’s my quiz. The latest one saw three teams - the Main Standers, Cheadle Enders and Pop Siders - compete in three (fictional) minibuses, in a race to see who could reach Wembley first. Pop along to find out who won!
Now then, here’s a man who needs no introduction... so he’s not getting one.

I probably don’t deserve one this week, Sandy - having just been out-predicted by my 11-year-old!
Never mind, though. Today, just like Shakin’ Stevens - or Rosemary Clooney, for the benefit of our older readers - in that Ole House, we’re ‘getting ready to meet the Saints’! And, in the process, we’ll be hoping to return to winning ways in SK3 for the first time since the opening day of the season.
That said, Brackley is one of those clubs in our League for which I have to confess a certain fondness. It was among the most genuinely friendly of places we visited last season; it has an appealing ground, with a nice rural backdrop and an immaculate (albeit slightly-sloping!) pitch; and its pre-match musical playlist is straight out of Studio 54 - worth the price of admission alone for any disco divas arriving early!
This afternoon will also, for the third campaign running, see us pitted against a side managed by Frank Sinclair, who was appointed to take temporary charge at St James Park late last Sunday. As it happens, I had, earlier the same day, seen Frank get in a bit of cheeky extra match-practice down the road from Macc Towers - when he turned out at The Moss Rose for a team of Ex-Professionals in aid of the Bosley Disaster Appeal. He bagged a goal and an assist, too. Still one to keep a watchful eye on...!
Enjoy the game.
