Rather promising-looking Bo Street Runners anthology - Never Say Goodbye - available on CD.
Think I will get myself a piece of that action!

Barclay James Harvest !! Good old college time late night coffee music. Remember Galadriel ? On the same album as Mocking Bird, I think. I saw them once, at the Weeley Festival www.ukrockfestivals.com/weeley-festival-prog.htmlbut the sound systems weren't so good in those days and the breeze distorted the trademark strings backing which was disappointing.

it's a great idea, archie, to do a couple of big runs on letters where you were struggling to select the richest of the available riches. will definitely have to nick it if i ever do a CHUMS (H.I.S.). 'b' and 's' are probably my most problematic ones too!

Only just noticed this, a_r_s. I suppose we all used our own collections as a start point for selections in the original votes. I bought quite a lot of vinyl in the 60s and 70s and managed to hang on to most of it so I've a fair amount of choice for those two letters with an actual favourite depending on mood as much as anything.

I've a fair amount of choice for those two letters with an actual favourite depending on mood as much as anything. absolutely right. there's got to be a format for this kind of list-making, but it's inevitably restrictive. thought that your way (and macc's b-sides), while -strictly- cheating, reduced the agony of choice a little and in a good way.
