If it wasn't so serious we'd all be pissing ourselves laughing. Unfortunately, I've no doubt that Johnson, clearly a man with no sense of shame and even less moral scruple will brazen it out. I notice Rudd has already been frantically covering her own arse by saying the cabinet were not made aware of the Attorney General's advice re prorogation. Fighting like weasels in a sack, and these people govern us!

it's just about trying to manipulate opinion on bercow, and in the current environment it doesn't matter if he's telling us rubbish that can easily be spotted by anyone not holding a 'leave means leave' placard and parading in front of westminster right this second.
as always, but at an even more rareified level at the moment, instead of promoting anything positive, it's all slurs about anyone who might oppose them, and Lord Great Exhibition himself wasn't exactly renowned for his positivity in the first place.

It's also about maintaining the (let's be generous and not call it a lie) fiction that Brexit can be 'done' in the same way and as easily as the weekly washing can be 'done'. It can't.
For example, my employer manufactures lights for the aerospace industry amongst others. It exports much of its product into the EU. In order to do that it has to gain and maintain design approvals via EASA, the European regulatory agency and in particular its part 21 G regs. It costs £000's and can take months. Without those approvals the business cannot export into Europe.
If it can't export into its biggest market a couple of hundred jobs are at risk and that's not because of the EU because all it will be doing is applying its rules to non-EU countries. It will be because of the anti EU rhetoric and lies coming out of the Tory Party and the braying right wing press and the prejudice and ignorance of large sections of mostly English society to whom they appeal.
In those circumstances if Johnson or any of the sycophants of the Tory front bench think that he can unite me behind him as we wander the sunlit uplands of their post Brexit paradise I've got some really bad news for them because that would be to enter a fantasy world. The second word is off!

To be fair to him mate he was brought up in one of the poorest parts of the country. Apparently his brother left school at 16 and joined the Navy and is now a Police Officer. It seems that he would have followed suit but for the free extra tuition he was given by one of his teachers which got him into 6th form college and then on to Exeter University where he benefitted from a free education. Of course, he wouldn't even have had that opportunity had his parents not been able to emigrate from the Punjab in the 60's. So, for a Tory he has an unusual background. He's made up for it since of course. A quick glance at his voting record suggests that he has laid to rest any questions about his loyalty to private profit and screwing poorer people over. It's all there. Voting for reductions in benefit payments generally, against increasing them for the sick and disabled. Voting to place the burden for society's neediest on local councils and then voting to cut the central Govt grants to the same councils. He's a firm believer in Academy schools, you know the ones that have been taken out of local authority management and had disproportionate amounts of money thrown at them. The ones owned by private trusts who've been trousering vast amounts of public money in exchange for a p**s poor education. Hardly surprising since they aren't obliged to employ qualified teachers! Fracking? Loves it. Climate Change? Doesn't believe in it. And the poor wee lamb is like any other f***ing Tory, call the b*st*rds out and they come over all arsey like. And let's not get into how he made his money (estimated at £3.4m pa). Flogging the very derivatives that no-one, not even him, and certainly not the Deutsche Bank on whose behalf he was flogging them could understand, that's how. In other words a fat wallet Tory tw## who made a killing in the very industry that caused the financial crash. A crash who's repercussions we are still feeling, a crash which led to austerity, which led to Brexit which this raging f***ing hypocrite supports on the grounds that it prevents immigration into this country. Christ on a bike but this piece of sh*t has all the brass neck we've come to love in this mob of sociopathic tossers.

Feel any better after that NYE? I can’t fault a word you’ve said. It just amazes how little most people actually care what their mp does when voting.
“I’ve always been a conservative and that labour fella (insert any name for the last 35 years) can’t be trusted to run the economy. I remember the blackouts in the 70s y’know etc etc etc”
I have to say that Malaga is an incredible city and I feel very much at home here even after just a few days! Enjoy the election guys! Hmmm I wonder if I get a vote still...

i find 'fat wallet tory tw##' particularly satisfying in flow and sound, like it's part of a modern tonguetwister. sadly, you could rebrand them the 'fat wallet tory tw## party' or the 'compassionless corporate business-rimming, police trimming, nhs privatising etonian liar party' and a large chunk of the working classes would still vote for them. the 'these c***s don't care about you mate party' - they'll still jump on board because bozza's 'getting brexit done'. very dispiriting and i might consider going somewhere sunny instead even if i do have to fight off alien invaders with my trusty laser.

I absolutely love Galaga. My son bought me a mini version last Christmas. It is still addictive, especially when you try to double up your ship despite the risks... And get your laser out! Almost all my new colleagues barely speak any Spanish despite being here for up to 10 years... ¡pero yo hablo suficiente español para vivo aquí fácilmente!
