I am posting this point about our youth team in here because I feel it is relevant...
I have just emailed less than 5 mins ago as you will read below to the club.....
F.A.O. MR ALAN LORD Dear Sir, After seeing the recent youth team results i am asking out of desperation for you to seriously consider giving the youth squad one complete fixture this christmas schedule. In truth our first team do not deserve in some cases to be in a reserve match let alone allowed to play for this club. We may lose the fixture maybe by an even worse score than the england cricket team in Oz but at least the fans will see hungry committed and most of all loyalty on the pitch come kick off time. Not all of the first team are a waste of time indeed our recent signings are not at fault here it is those who choose to make no effort who are directly to blame. An example of which can be see at Old Trafford this season – its down to the players on the pitch to provide the results no matter who is in charge of selection etc. Even Mr Moyes cannot make his team win if they dont want to apply themselves. So i ask you to seriously consider my request and to make or break these first team players into working for the team or indeed to leave asap. frankly the youth team deserve some recognition for their hard work this season and this would be an ideal reward and booster to them to carry on their positive results come the new year when the weather is bitter and pitches are difficult to play on. I would imagine the fans would be happy to see a side battle and try hard than just hand the points over at 3pm. To define one complete fixture i wish to make clear the only first team players i would have involved are the recent signings and then only as subs. Shame the first team into action and indeed make them face the media on post match radio – let them explain on air why its not working instead of you Mr Lord week in week out. What have we got to lose? The season is dead as a promotion season anyway. S Ryan – 34 years a hatter.
end of email
I cant put it any clearer what I think of those who who behave like members of the house of lords and take the money for very little in return. SHAMEFUL !

I don't see another way to make our team any better. Our manager is doing his best and you can see the swear words bubbling out every week that he wants to say on air but cant so I think its high time the players did the post match and Al didn't for a while just to make these people see that respect is a two way street. This lack of effort I cannot see how it relates to if the club is solvent or not. Chester city players didn't give up even thought they finally went under and rose again in a new guise. Is that what it will take to get this team level again on the pitch???
I have more faith in Nigella Lawson running BOOTS THE CHEMIST right now than the so called first team - new players discounted.

of those taking the money, i noted crainey coming on and being dispossessed in midfield. at least we know with alan lord that if the young 'uns are good enough, he won't hold back on playing them. we might not have them on any sort of proper contract to make us money, but i'm always glad to see the bright spots of turner, duxbury, lofthouse, and, err...'welshman' was it macc?!?

Couple of reasons.........1 Lordy was never given the email ( mysterious censorship event !) 2........see 1 3.....No one replies to emails from county these days they have all taken a vow of general ignorance and discourtesy. So much For improved communication with fans..........TOTAL BOLLCOCKS !

Phil B and Des Hinks always went out of their way to respond to fans, that's all changed now, thank 2015 & Ryan McKnight for those two leaving the club.

I am not trying to be flippant here Stu so apologies in advance if it comes across that way but have you seen any of the youth team matches? Have you assessed the standard of the matches being played or identified any stand out individuals?
It looks good on paper the youth team doing so well but it all becomes irrelevant if the league isn't of a good standard. Do we have any idea who the standout players are in this County youth team? Any goal scoring records etc?
Genuine questions, I haven't taken much note of the youth setup since it was binned off a few seasons ago.

I've just noticed the link to the hedge grower blog in the youth team section, I shall take a look on there and I may find some answers to my questions.....

no appologies needed fez all opinions are indeed just that. My point about the youth team is that they are more successful than our first team in terms of results. I would agree that level of skill etc is going to be not as high as you would expect from players of experience but then again look at out first team and I must ask you where the experience has shone through and pointed the way. The last 3 matches have shown the team can produce not only results but convincing performances but then again January brings transfer and yes we all know the window doesn't apply at our level but players such as rhys turner who was being considered by teams in the football league have to wait to sign him for the window to open. Injuries aside for the moment.
I would also agree my knowledge of the youth team is very limited - but then again a fact is a fact. the youth team are doing very well. the first team are not playing to their potential as an overall season so far view. Not exactly knocking on the play off doors are we? we aint even reaching 12th place.
I don't want to see my team fail !!! But my email was making the point about at that time the lack of effort by some players who are here for the money and nothing more - this does not go for the entire squad but it does show where the motivation is in modern football. Its not the shirt or the club anymore. Have you considered my email might have just been enough to embarrass the players into playing better? Its just that such if any action was taken by its use wasn't mentioned in public but was used as a yard stick to show the players how the fans feel about players and their right to maintain a place in the starting line up or even the bench? Who Knows ! Maybe it has been printed off and pinned on the dressing room wall as a wake up call to the players but remains out of the public eye provided the players show they are worth their place here?

First post on here so bear with me I personally wouldn't expect a reply. I think Lordy is as frustrated as some of the fans at the inconsistency of some of the players performances. I believe the decision to go part time has cost us in that respect. A new team has to gel together irrespective of what level and that takes time and as such surely any team worth it's salt will gel together faster with full time players training full time instead of players who are working as well as playing football. I wouldn't fancy plastering day long and then going in to training of an evening. If we are serious about getting back to the FL we need FT players not part timers. Focus would then hopefully be all on football and not juggling two jobs. Congratulations to the Youth team on some fighting performances. Sounds like they are playing with pride. The first thing I would do is give them all season tickets and get them along to first team training once a week. Show them the future. Get them on COWS and in the Express. We should be trumpeting any County success. Funnily enough t's called marketing. We need more competition for first team places. Players should know that if they don't perform in a match that they won't be playing in the next one. That way if they really want to achieve they will go the extra mile. With the squad numbers And injuries i don't really see this happening as we can only just put out a squad.
