Almost impossible to narrow down all the great artists/bands beginning with 'R', so I'm bound to upset many of you with my shortlist of 5, but here goes:
Radiohead Ramones Red Hot Chilli Peppers REM Rolling Stones
At least you have a bit more time to think about/argue it, before we have the equally difficult task of finding an artist/band for Week S!
Over to you lot!

Easy choice for me.
A shout out though, for Chris Rea and David & Jimmy Ruffin.
It's Roxy Music for me. In their early days they had the excellent Eno in the line up, who has since gone on to be one of the top producers in the music world. The band fronted by the coolest bloke ever to venture on stage, Mr Brian Ferry. Endless brilliant albums and singles and superb live; saw them back in nineteen hundred and frozen to death.
An easy choice this week.
Ferry has of course gone on to have a superb solo career and is still going strong with an up and coming tour and the release of his new album, 'Avonmore'. If you get the chance, have a listen to his cover version of Robert Palmers 'Johnny and Mary', it's excellent.

Both Roxy Music and Chris Rea were in my 'original shortlist' (which consisted of around 15 artists) but didn't make the cut - Sorry!

Chris Rea.
Driving rock with "Road to Hell".
Chilled beats with "Looking for the Summer".
Makes me cry with "Tell me There's a Heaven".
Sums everything up with "Going Fishing".
No more to say.

Roxy Music for me too. REM were phenomenal, and are getting my vote if it gets close to winning with any act other than Roxy, but Bryan Ferry is just cool as ****, so hopefully Roxy Music will get more votes.

Being a fan of the 80's...
R.E.M Red Box Chris Rea REO Speedwagon Cliff Richard Romantics Roachford Run-DMC Roxette Lionel Richie
Others Include...
Rage against the machine The Ramones Lou Reed Reef Right Said Fred The Righteous Brothers Kenny Rogers Gerry Rafferty Reel 2 Reel Rihanna Smokey Robinson Diana Ross
It is a really close call for me this week. Coming 2nd by a midge's widge is Roxy music. Saw them at the MEN about 2-3 years ago and they are still great live. But just pipping them to the top spot is Lionel Richie (tickets bought for next years tour!). My favourite song is "Stuck on You" just beating "Easy like a Sunday morning"

A shout out though, for Chris Rea and David & Jimmy Ruffin. Agreed, and David Ruffin, in my opinion, was the finest male soul singer ever, nobody even comes close.

Being a fan of the 80's... You really do have to get an OTT 80s image to go with that now familiar catchphrase, matey!

REM for me too. Automatic For The People is almost perfectly formed. Roxy Music and the Stones have played their part but only one choice for me. Honourable mentions for Kim Richey and Justin Rutledge.
