Unlucky, Downy, but at least you gave it a good go and enjoyed the game, that's what matters.

Don't forget Rule One of Goalkeeping - when you let one in always b*ll*ck the defence.

Even if you let in a daft one ALWAYS blame someone else first !!
It worked for Schmeichal.

I think you'll find that it was your dive that forced their striker to put it over. Don't let your team mates forget this fact!

I didn't actually dive, he was eyeing that side of the goal so I just shuffled sideways that way just before he kicked it. It worked for the one I saved a few weeks back (did I mention that one?!)

I played 90 minutes in goal for the 45s in a hard-fought 2-1 win. Good to start the season with the 3 points.
I stayed back and went in goal for the second team (over 35s) as they have injuries (already!) and lads away. Played another 90 minutes in goal in a 1 all draw.
My knees are creaking now though.

Impressive, especially considering most players now moan about having to play twice a week!
Congrats on the win, start as you mean to go on?!
Title push?

Hope so.
I also think I dislocated my wedding ring finger in the first half last week as it's been painful, bruised and swollen. I struggled at training with it but once it's a proper game adrenalin kicks in and the pain disappears.

I struggled at training with it but once it's a proper game adrenalin kicks in and the pain disappears. Just a small tip from my own sport playing days. Give the finger a quick pull before you have time to think about it. The pain will momentarily blow the top of your head off, but if it's dislocated it pops straight back in and the pain subsides almost straight away. If it doesn't it's broken, strap them together to stop the broken one moving

This time I didn't even realise I'd done something to it until half time when I felt some pain. I've tried a bit of manipulation but the end is permanently bent whereas all my other fingers will straighten. I could always ask the nurse at work to have a look but it's been almost two weeks since I did it now.
