Oi! No influencing the judge! Not that it would make any difference, of course, as exile deservedly takes the honours this week for his outstandingly poignant tribute. And if you didn't shed at least one tear on reading it, then you are either a liar or a robot... or both. This said, the pieces offered up by eppers and sandy were also of high quality - not to mention comedy value - and, in any other week, each would have merited the Mantle of Brilliance. Do, by all means, think of resubmitting them under another letter, gents. They are both deserving of their time in the spotlight... and, heck, it worked for me last week ! Back to Lennie in the studio. Mmm...

thank you fellas. he passed away on monday night and i dunno why but i'm glad i'd already written it. i might send something to the club for the programme - i think how he sort of accidentally went the first time and eventually ended up with his family all county is a good story.
i'm not sad. not really. it was one hell of a good innings, and i'm proud of him.

I'm really sorry to read that very sad news, mate, your entry was a fitting tribute to the man.
You have plenty of extended family on here if you ever need a chat, just keep that in mind, mate. My thoughts are with you and the family.
RIP.

Terribly sorry to hear that matey. As you said he had a great innings and was a County fan through and through and his legacy will live on through you and all of his family. Hopefully the squad can put up something even close to a worthy tribute to such a huge fan.

Condolences a_r_s. Obviously not unexpected but still a great emotional wrench. I know from personal experience the mixed emotions of irreplaceable loss and relief that someone is now at peace. Sounded like a fine man. RIP.
