I've temporarily disabled the snow plugin, as I have been experiencing some pretty irritating lag on here, so I just thought I'd see if it has affected/made a difference with or without it for anyone else? Any feedback would be appreciated, as we want to make this site as easy on the eye and as pleasurable to use as is possible.

Without appearing to be a "Xmas Misery", it's better without it.IMO

This is a good moment to reiterate my earlier posts. This site is for everyone. So please, if you have any issues with the site, no matter how trivial you think it might seem, just let us know. The perfect example of this is your good selves, you've had issues with the sluggishness of the site yet you didn't tell me until I asked how it was working for you. Any problems at all, just say so, it's your site remember. Speaking for myself, the contribution I have made was for everyone on here, not for myself or any personal gain or kudos. I can say with all confidence that Fudgie felt exactly the same way when he was grafting alongside me getting this place ready. We just wanted to see this place buzzing again, and it was really irritating me personally that all the hard work that Sheff and the rest of the admin team had put into the Lefora site was being systematically (in my opinion) dismantled by Yuku. Again, I'm certain that Fudgie felt the same frustration. It's great to see we've picked up over 40 members already, and I hope it continues to go from strength to strength. So remember, please point out anything you're not comfortable or happy with on here, and we will do our level best to make it better for you, it really isn't a problem, lads.

a very tiny irritation (to take you up on your request!) i like to shortcut Ctrl-B and Ctrl-I for bold and italic. although it works in writing posts, both also open up a 'bookmarks' menu on the left hand side and it sticks your cursor up in that, meaning i have to reach for the mouse, rendering keyboard shortcuts pointless... are both the forum and firefox picking up the keypress? is there any way to disable the 'bookmarks' menu from opening on CH?
not the world's most pressing issue admittedly!

Gazza, how do I jump straight to the last post in a thread when on the mobile version? Cheers in anticipation!

No idea to either, sorry. I've tried to implement code into the forum template to view the latest post/last page of threads, but it didn't work. My coding knowledge is very, very basic I'm afraid, and it seems I've now reached my limit. Which is frustrating, but I really have tried to find some answers and I came up blank. I could continue to try messing with the template, but I don't want to screw anything up, so I'm quitting while I can. Sorry, guys .

For the record, I enjoyed the snow!
Gazza mate, seriously don't worry about it, you've done so much for this place no one blames you for having one thing you are struggling to do! Thanks a lot for even trying!

I think I've found a solution regarding configuring the Firefox hot keys, mate. Follow these instructions (Firefox users only): Click the following link: mozilla.dorando.at/keyconfig.xpiwhen Firefox says it's blocked it, choose allow, let it install, and restart Firefox. Then come back to CH and go to 'Tools' > 'keyconfig', then look for the offending shortcut in the list. Click on the shortcut once, then click on 'disable', then repeat for the second one then click 'apply' and 'close'. You will still be left with the 'CTRL+SHIFT+B' combination for Bookmarks, and hopefully that will be ok for you. Restart Firefox, and you should be free of that issue, mate. Try to post something using Bold and Italic on this thread to see if it works. The hotkey changes will affect Firefox globally, btw, not just on here. That said, I think it's fairly easy to adapt to the 'CTRL+SHIFT+B' combination, and I have to say that I don't use that particular feature anyway. Let me know how you get on.

Thank God for that, I'm glad it worked, mate. I felt pretty bad for not being able top help yourself and Duds last night, so I hunted around for some solutions, and that was what I came up with. It's an ancient plugin, but it was still available for download so I tested it out.
Cheers for the comments, mate, but I'm just glad I was able to help. Just need to suss out the issue Duds pointed out now, but I think that one might just be beyond me. I'll keep looking around.

Lol, mate. Seriously though, I don't mind, if it's a problem I'll do my absolute best to sort it out. I know myself I have limited ability at certain things, but I'll never fail through lack of effort, I hate things like that beating me. I put my Paul Gascoigne website out to grass because it took up too much of my time, and that really did take up too much time, but issues such as yours are a picnic in comparison. If it ever got to that level of involvement I'd step aside and let someone else sort it out, but the forum is set up now and it's not going to change unless people want it changed. So all I will be doing as of now is adding the odd tweak and trying to sort out any issues for our fellow members, so don't worry, it only becomes a problem for me when I can't figure it out!
